Roaming Around Michigan: Dog Friendly-Places To Visit

The state of Michigan, federally recognized in the Union of American States, is 22nd in land area among the 50 states, but when you add in the waters of the Great Lakes over which it has control, it jumps up to 11th. Located in central Michigan, the capital city is known as Lansing. The state’s name comes from the Ojibwa (Chippewa) term for “big lake,” michi-gama.

There are many stunning attractions in Michigan’s capital city, leaving you with the difficult decision of prioritizing your sightseeing. The town itself is fascinating and fun to explore because of all the exciting things there are to do there. The fact that you and your dog are welcome to participate in some of these exciting opportunities expands the range of locations you can consider for your outing.

Listed below are sites where you and your dog can enjoy some quality time together:

  • Clinton Township Dog Park

The park permits dogs for walks, playtime, and other activities. There are chairs, waste bins, and drinking fountains for dogs and their owners at this fenced-in, 1.5-acre dog park. One must have a pass to enter. You can get access by completing an application and paying the annual fee and the cost of the key fob to enter the park. People post the details on obtaining passes online.

Make sure you have your park pass before planning a trip to this park. Moreover, if you are in this place and looking for a veterinary clinic to get your dog checked, top vets in Clinton Township offer excellent services for your dog when it comes to treating them.

  • Mari Vineyards

Mari Vineyards in Traverse City, Michigan, has a patio that welcomes dogs and has lovely views of East Bay. If you’re looking for a fancy vacation spot, this is it. De-stress with a glass of wine on the large terrace or join a group for a wine tasting to sample a variety of excellent selections. Alternatively, you and your dog can relax and take in the scenery together.

  • Decadent Dogs

The South Haven, Michigan, location of Decadent Dogs is a pet supply store. This chic business sells a wide variety of dog goods, from food and treats to collars and toys. As a result, you should shop here if you’re in the market for high-quality supplies for your canine companion. Additionally, they have a wide variety of dog apparel, flags, gifts, and decorations for your home or workplace. Bringing your dog into the store with you is fine, but it must remain on a leash at all times for the security of everyone and for them to avoid any troubles.

  • Detroit Riverfront

The Detroit Riverfront, from the Ambassador Bridge to Gabriel Richard Park to the east of the Belle Isle Bridge, is dog-friendly as long as you keep your pet on a leash. The first 2.5 miles of the East Riverfront have been finished and opened to the public. If you’re looking for a location to take your dog for a walk or want to get outside and breathe some fresh air, you’ve found the right spot.

These are just some dog-friendly places you can visit in Michigan, and there are a lot more as you explore the area. However, you should also remember that as an owner, if you are traveling or going somewhere with your dog, it is essential to keep an eye on them and, as much as possible, leash them. Doing so will ensure that you can control your dog (in the meantime); some dogs tend to get excited and energetic whenever they encounter new places, which causes chaos.
